Microsoft, cuánto tenemos que aguantarte

Microsoft finalmente decidió liberar su parche fuera-de-ciclo para la vulnerabilidad VLM. Muchos, como Rian Naraine de eWeek recuerda que esta historia no es nueva para Microsoft.

“This reminds me so much of the WMF attacks earlier this year,” said Roger Thompson, chief technology officer at Exploit Prevention Labs, in Atlanta. “It came out of left field, ran undetected for a week or three, and by the time the official, emergency patch came out, the damage was done.”

Y tiene razón. El daño ya está hecho y tardaron demasiado en hacer algo y al verlo de esta forma, Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols de LinuxWatch tiene inmensa razón en formular esta pregunta:

Vaughan-Nichols menciona el caso de Internet Explorer. Y si leemos las noticias y titulares no será difícil darnos cuenta que un gran número de problemas nos llevan a Windows o a cualquier producto relacionado con MS.

Right now, this very moment, if you go to the wrong site with IE 6, your system is going to get as sick as a dog and You Can’t Do Anything About It.

Así que, aunque he llegado a creer que Vaughan-Nichols es un enfermo-vicioso-dependiente-activista de Linux y el OpenSource por su manera de hablar respecto de Linux y un enfermo-vicioso-oponente-antiMicrosoft-declarado por la forma en la que se refiere a la empresa de Redmond, no deja de tener la razón: Microsoft hace lo quiere y la culpa es nuestra.
